The marketing funnel is a visual representation of the customer journey, illustrating the stages a potential customer goes through from first becoming aware of a brand to making a purchase and, ultimately, becoming a loyal customer.

The funnel metaphor is used because the number of prospects typically decreases as they move through the various stages, narrowing down to a smaller number of customers who make a purchase and continue to engage with the brand.
