Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg with the company’s vice president of Engineering Mike Schroepfer in tow, will be visiting Harvard next week to recruit students for jobs and internships. It is Zuckerberg’s first official visit to Harvard since leaving in 2004 to launch Facebook.
The Harvard Gazette reports that while at his alma mater, Zuckerberg is scheduled to meet with more than 200 computer science students at the Farkas Hall for a discussion moderated by computer science lecturer David J. Malan. While on campus, Zuckerberg will also meet with Harvard officials.
Harvard is not the only place Zuckerberg will be touring. The duo will meet privately with more than 200 students as part of a recruitment swing through Cambridge, said a statement from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Facebook is a major recruiter at Carnegie Mellon and employs about 50 alumni. The Carnegie Mellon University is also part of his tour. This will be Zuckerberg’s first visit to the University.
“Facebook is hiring”, says the company’s job page. The company is hiring new grads, Masters and PhDs for analytics, engineering and finance. There are also several job openings in corporate communications roles, sales, and operations, among others.
