‘Happy Birthday,’ Mark Twain, Says Google’s Panoramic Triptych Fence

By Lisa Carlin

Google has brought the world of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn to its Home. The Search giant has its first ever panoramic doodle today, a googlingly happy birthday to author Mark Twain.

What you will find interesting is that the logo is a triptych, as well as being a panorama. A triptych is a work of art divided into three sections. Triptychs were rather hot in ancient Rome, and the form has shown persistence in modern times, especially in jewelry and knick knacks.
