All You Want To Know About Google’s Nexus 7

[By Sudarshana Banerjee]

Google revealed its own tablet device at the company’s annual developer conference currently going on in San Francisco. The Nexus 7 tablets are manufactured by Asus and is currently available from Google Play, with orders shipping in mid-July. The tablets come in 8GB and 16Gb versions, and cost $199 and $249 respectively. You will also get a $25 credit to spend in the Google Play store.

The Nexus 7 tablets run on Jelly Bean (Android 4.1 mobile operating system. Not the candy, sorry), and is built by ASUS. The tablets come with a NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, and a 1280-by-800 high-resolution display with over one million pixels. The tablets feature bluetooth and WiFi wireless connectivity, and is NFC-capable. Google Play (with access to its 600,000 apps and games) launches right from the home screen, as does Gmail and YouTube.

You can find a complete list of features here.

The best part of the Nexus 7 is the price tag. Would you spend $199, or $499 (the cost of an iPad entry level model) for a tablet device? While you think about that, would you rather spend $199 for a tablet from the Google stable or $199 for a tablet from Amazon or B&N? Last question. Would you rather have a Google Nexus 7 or Microsoft Surface?
