Talking Tom Cat and his fellow Talking Friends – whose apps top more than 600 million downloads worldwide – made their Hollywood debut on Thursday, with a live event featuring Radio Disney DJs and plush toy giveaways among other things.

The wise-cracking Talking Tom, his girlfriend Angela and tag-along rapping friend Ginger sang, danced, and played live for the first time. They also showed off Talking Friends Superstars, new app-powered toys modeled after their famed virtual counterparts.

Each of the Talking Friends apps features an animated 3D character that comes to life when poked, tickled, and played with on mobile touch-screen devices for the iOS and Android platforms. There are over 120 million monthly active users of the app, according to its developers Outfit7.  There are 14 characters in the Talking Friends collection including Talking Tom Cat, Talking Ben and Talking Gina the Giraffe.

The Talking Friends YouTube single You Get Me has got some 63 million views; a web series earlier this year earned more than 100 million views.

Outfit7 is headquartered in Limassol, Cyprus with subsidiaries in Palo Alto, USA; London, England; Ljubljana, Slovenia; and Seoul, South Korea.
