Sonatype raises $80 million

Automated open source governance company Sonatype has raised $80 million. The investment was led by TPG, with participation from existing investors Accel, Goldman Sachs and Hummer Winblad.

Sonatype’s Nexus platform offerings are currently used by more than 10 million software developers and 1,000 enterprises worldwide, said the company in a statement.

Barclays acted as financial advisor to TPG in this transaction, which contained both primary and secondary funds. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati served as legal advisor to TPG. Morrison & Foerster served as legal advisor to Sonatype.
