Red Hat Working With The CentOS Project, Helping Clone RHEL

CentOS

Red Hat and the CentOS Project are joining forces to build a new CentOS, working to provide a common platform for open source community project needs. In effect, the company is working with the team of people who are cloning its software.

CentOS is an Enterprise Linux distribution based on a rebuild of the freely available sources from Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), built by a group of volunteers, and is among the most popular flavors of Linux available. Red Hat’s business is built around the RHEL, and the company had taken up arms against CentOS; all of which seems to be in the past now.
