Red Hat expands collaboration with Nvidia

Red Hat has announced a partnership with Nvidia to enable GPU-based 5G radio access network (RAN) deployments on industry-standard servers across hybrid and multicloud environments. The collaboration will extend from private data centers to multiple public clouds and the network edge, according to the companies.

OpenShift now supports converged accelerators and the Aerial SDK for software-defined 5G virtual radio access networks (vRAN) and enterprise AI applications. Nvidia GPUs removes the need for bespoke hardware and runs on OpenShift on standard Kernel, says Red Hat.

You can find a technical blog post from Red Hat talking about the solution here.
