Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.9 Now Available

Red Hat has released the next minor update of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.9. This release marks the beginning of Production Phase 2 of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.

You can download Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.9 from here. You need to register with Red Hat for the download.

Improvements in the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.9 include:

  • Increased support for hardware vendors 
  • Tighter security controls
  • New developer tools
  • Enhanced application support 
  • New virtualization capabilities
  • Better subscription management

As with all minor releases, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.9 maintains backwards compatibility with hardware and software platforms across the lifecycle of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.
