MIT CSAIL Unveil New Chip Design

MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) Principal Investigator and Professor Arvind, CSAIL graduate student Myron King and former graduate student Nirav Dave will present a new system that enables hardware designers to specify, in a single programming language, all the functions they want a device to perform at the ‘Association for Computing Machinery’s 17th International Conference on Architectural Support for Programming Languages and Operating Systems’.

The new system, an extension of the chip-design language BlueSpec designed by Arvind and his students, will allow hardware designers to designate which functions should be hardware and which should be software.
