Google Buys Katango

Google has bought Katango for an undisclosed amount of money. Katango was founded a little over a year ago to develop social algorithms that improve people’s online social interaction.  Katango automatically organizes a user’s friends and family into groups, and allows private sharing of photos and status updates within groups.

The company will be integrated with Google’s Google+ team.

Katango, previously known as Cafebots, was funded by Kleiner Perkin’s iFund and sFund.
