Fujitsu, Microsoft conducting 5G connectivity trials for Azure MEC

Fujitsu is conducting trials with Microsoft to verify the connectivity between Fujitsu’s 5G network technology and Microsoft Azure private Multi-Access Edge Compure (MEC).

The trials kicked off in July 2022 in Kawasaki, Japan, and will continue in fiscal 2023 in Birmingham, UK, with preliminary activities at the site starting from March 2023, say the companies.

Fujitsu says it plans to develop a unified platform that enables integration of all solutions from 5G base stations to edge applications leveraging Azure private MEC.
