Elon Musk appoints Linda Yaccarino as the new Twitter CEO

Elon Musk has appointed Linda Yaccarino, NBC Universal Media’s head of advertising, as Twitter’s new CEO. Mr. Musk himself will transition to being executive chair and CTO of Twitter, overseeing product, software and sysops, he said in a tweet.

Ms. Yaccarino will focus primarily on business operations, while Mr. Musk is expected to focus on product design and new technology for the platform. The mandate is to transform Twitter into X, the everything app, Mr. Musk tweeted.

Ms. Yaccarino has been with NBC Universal for over 11 years in various roles. She is also the executive chair for the World Economic Forum since 2019. Ms. Yaccarino was the former chairperson of the board for the Ad Council, and is currently a board member there.
