Dell Boomi increasing R&D spend, sales capacity by 50 per cent YoY

Dell Boomi, a provider of cloud integration and workflow automation software and an independent business unit of Dell, says it expects to grow the company’s product investment 50 per cent in 2018. The growth comes on the heels of a 50 per cent jump in R&D investment in 2017, as well as relocating to a larger campus.

Boomi also doubled sales capacity in the last year, and expects to double it again in the coming year, said the company in a statement.

“Right now, enterprises without cloud integration capabilities are experiencing digital disruptions and missing the potential for huge productivity gains,” said Boomi CEO Chris McNabb. “More and more companies are facing the reality of their current enterprise needs by deciding to leapfrog the competition, modernize and move to best-of-breed cloud applications.

In another development, the company appointed Steve Wood as Boomi chief product officer, to lead product innovation.
