Visceral Games, an Electronic Arts studio, has launched Dead Space 3. The game introduces a drop-in/drop-out feature, new weapon crafting systems, and takes players on a ride through the terrors that lie hidden in deep space and the  ice planet of Tau Volantis.

Gamers can extend the game play in March with the Dead Space 3 Awakened,  digital download pack, where the Necromorph battles become even more gruesome.

Dead Space 3 is available in North America for PlayStation 3,  Xbox 360 with Kinect, and the PC. The game is rated M for Mature by the ESRB.
