Alation raises $23 million

Redwood City, California-based collaborative data cataloging company Alation has closed a $23 million Series B funding round, led by Icon Ventures. Harmony Partners, Costanoa Ventures, and Data Collective also participated in the round.

Michael Mullany, a general partner at Icon Ventures, has joined the Alation board of directors.

Alation customers include the City of San Diego, Tesco, General Electric, Intuit, Pinterest and Pfizer, according to the company.
