G2 raises $157M

Software marketplace company G2 has raised $157 million in Series D funding. The latest fund raise puts G2 at a valuation of more than $1.1 billion, the company said in a statement.

The investment was led by Permira. Existing investors Accel, Emergence, and IVP also participated in the round, along with new investors HubSpot Ventures and Salesforce Ventures, says Godard Abel, co-founder and chief executive of G2.

Permira partner Tom Eggemeier will join the G2 board.

G2 has a community of 60 million software buyers and 2,000+ corporate partners, according to the company.

G2 has raised $257 million to date.
