Yahoo Chairman Resigns

Yahoo chairman Fred Amoroso has decided not to seek reelection to the board of directors, says Yahoo. Mr. Amoroso will continue to serve on the board through the shareholders meeting on June 25, but has resigned as chairman. The board has appointed Maynard Webb, Jr. to serve as interim chairman.

Following the completion of Mr. Amoroso’s term at the annual meeting, the board will comprise 10 members.

Mr. Amoroso led the special committee set up at Yahoo to investigate the company’s former CEO Scott Thompson’s college degree. Mr. Amoroso was formerly president and CEO and a director of Rovi.
