Yahoo acquires Commonstock

Yahoo has announced the acquisition of Commonstock, a social and community-based platform aimed at retail investors. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed. The Commonstock team will be integrated into Yahoo Finance as a result of the acquisition.

Commonstock, established in August 2020, has rapidly gained popularity among retail investors. The platform’s offerings span the investment process, from pre-trade market news and analysis to community-based discussions, self-directed portfolio management tools, and insights.

With over $10 billion in connected assets, Commonstock allows users to link brokerage accounts, share portfolio performance, and engage in discussions about trades and strategies. Real-time alerts inform users when friends make trades, fostering collaborative investment discussions.
