WP Engine raises $250 million

Austin-based WordPress hosting and experience Platform WP Engine has raised $250 million from Silver Lake. As part of the transaction, Greg Mondre, managing partner of Silver Lake, and Lee Wittlinger and Mark Gillett, managing directors of Silver Lake, will join WP Engine’s board of directors.

Founded in 2010, WP Engine is headquartered in Austin, Texas, and has offices in San Francisco, California; San Antonio, Texas; London, England; Limerick, Ireland, and Brisbane, Australia. The company has raised $290 million in funding to date.
