WeWork acquires Meetup

Coworking company WeWork has acquired Meetup, the social networking site that lets people with common interests meet up, for an undisclosed amount. Meetup CEO Scott Heiferman will continue to lead the company.

Meetup was founded in New York City about 15 years ago, and has roughly 35 million members. Every month, almost four million Meetup members RSVP for events being held in over 180 countries, according to a blog post by WeWork cofounder and CEO Adam Neumann.

You can find more information and a FAQ section on the acquisition at the Meetup website here.
