Utah Launches New Absentee Ballot Online Tool

[Techtaffy Newsdesk]

Utah voters may now request an absentee ballot online, instead of visiting their county clerk’s office in person. from voter.utah.gov. “Providing an absentee ballot option for Utah citizens is another way we are encouraging all Utah citizens to participate in the voting process,” said Utah Lt. Governor Greg Bell. “The online registration tool is the easiest way to not only register and update your voting information, but now to also request an absentee ballot.”

The online absentee tool simplifies the process of requesting an absentee ballot, which will help all Utahns participate in elections, particularly those temporarily residing outside the state. When requesting an absentee ballot, Utah voters are able to request a “one-time absentee” ballot or a “permanent by mail” ballot. Military and overseas voters can also choose their desired method of delivery (email, fax, domestic address or international address).

Utah is the third state nationwide to offer online voter registration; last year, more than 10,000 Utah citizens registered to vote online at voter.utah.gov.
