Twitter Buys IT Training Outfit

Twitter is acquiring tech training company Marakana. Marakana began teaching classes at Twitter several months ago, and will now exclusively focus on training users at Twitter University.

Twitter University is a new training endeavor launched by Twitter on Tuesday. The university will provide technical training to Twitter employees; some of the Twitter University content will be released online as well for the general audience.

Marakana has delivered classes to over 100,000 professional software engineers. More than five million people have learned from the company’s free online videos

The Marakana team will be joining the engineering organization at Twitter.
