Spanish Social Games Developer Social Point Raises $7.4 Million

Social Point, a social games developer based in Barcelona, has closed a Series B financing round of $7.4 million led by Idinvest Partners, with participation from other funds including BBVA and existing investor Nauta Capital.

Founded in 2008 by Andrés Bou and Horacio Martos, co-CEOs of Social Point, and Marc Canaleta, CTO, Social Point has over 15 million monthly active users as of June 2012. The company launched a number of  social games on Facebook in the last 18 months, including Social Empires, Social Wars and Dragon City, accumulating over 13 million monthly active users.

Social Point completed a first round of financing in June 2011 with Nauta Capital for $3.4 million.
