Sophia Closes $3.7M Series A Round

Semantic content analysis company Sophia has closed a $3.7 million Series A funding round. The investment was led by Atlantic Bridge, and will be used to increase marketing and sales efforts in North America and to accelerate product roll-out, says the company.

Sophia was established in 2007 by Dr. David Patterson from the University of Ulster in Belfast, N. Ireland and Dr. Vladimir Dobrynin from Saint Petersburg State University, Russia.

Sophia’s US Headquarters are located in San Jose, California, with additional offices in Belfast, N. Ireland and St. Petersburg, Russia.
