Siemens is acquiring Enlighted

Siemens is acquiring Enlighted, a provider of smart IoT (Internet of Things) systems in buildings, based in Sunnyvale, CA. Financial details of the deal was not disclosed.

Enlighted will be managed as an independent legal entity and wholly-owned subsidiary of Siemens Industry on closing, says Siemens. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2018.

Enlighted analyzes and visualizes  collected sensor data, with sensors that can be installed in every light fixture with the ability to collect data 65 times per second, according to Siemens. The Enlighted platform is also able to locate people and assets within a building and analyze the occupancy of floors and rooms, and can optimize the energy efficiency of HVAC systems, said Siemens in a statement.
