Riverbed Appoints David Wu CTO

Riverbed has appointed David Wu as CTO. Mr. Wu will lead more than 800 engineers in his new role, among other things.

As a member of Riverbed’s founding team in 2003, Mr. Wu was involved in the initial architecture of  the Steelhead wide area network (WAN) optimization appliance. He is also the innovator behind the Granite storage delivery solution.  

In his 10 years with Riverbed, Mr. Wu has held several positions, including vice president, Software Development and senior vice president, Research & Development.

Before joining the Riverbed founding team, Mr. Wu was the director of Engineering at netVmg. Earlier, he served as senior engineering manager at Inktomi, where he led the streaming media proxy group.

Mr. Wu has seven patents issued and 36 pending patents relating to networking, programming languages, and databases. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Computer Science, both from University of California, Berkeley.

Microsoft to build $3.3B data center in Wisconsin

Microsoft announced a $3.3 billion investment package in Southeast Wisconsin. The investment, to be rolled out by the end of 2026, includes the development of a datacenter campus in Mount Pleasant.
