Rivada Networks announces team partners in FirstNet LTE network bid

Rivada Mercury, a U.S. company formed by global communications companies, have announced the team that is bidding to build America’s first nationwide 4G LTE broadband wireless network for public safety. The team includes Rivada Networks, Harris Corporation, Ericsson, Nokia, Intel Security, Fujitsu Network Communications, and Black & Veatch.

Together, these organizations have proposed to build a nationwide LTE network in the 700 MHz spectrum licensed to FirstNet.

Joe Euteneuer, CEO, Rivada Mercury, said,  “Our team’s approach to FirstNet offers many benefits for America’s public safety community, namely we will provide public safety with a purpose-built Band 14 network and immediate turn-key access to the largest non-Band 14 coverage footprint in the U.S.”
