Qualcomm Appoints Laurie Yoler Business Development Head

Qualcomm Technologies, has appointed Laurie Yoler as senior vice president of business development. In this role, Ms. Yoler will be responsible for augmenting existing business relationships in Silicon Valley, as well as developing new strategic business opportunities for Qualcomm in the region. Ms. Yoler will report to Peggy Johnson, executive vice president and president of global market development, Qualcomm Technologies.

For the past seven years, Ms. Yoler was a partner and managing director at GrowthPoint Technology Partners, a Silicon Valley-based investment bank.  She was a founding board member of Tesla Motors, and is currently on the company’s board of advisors. She is also vice chair at the Washington State University Research Foundation. Other roles held by Ms. Yoler include, among others, director, product development and management with Visa, and director, corporate development and venture capital with Sun Microsystems.

Ms. Yoler graduated summa cum laude from Washington State University with a B.A. in management information systems. She also completed a year abroad in the international business program at the University of Copenhagen. She also completed executive management programs at both Kellogg and INSEAD.
