facebook[Techtaffy Newsdesk]

Facebook has launched a new version of, well, Facebook.  The News Feed has been revamped with larger photos, and bigger displays of check-ins, among other things. Several new feeds are also being added. At a press conference, unveiling the redesign, Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO, said he wanted to give everyone the best personalized newspaper in the world.

Facebook has rebuilt the layout of individual stories (or status updates). Content that your friends are sharing is highlighted. The way photos, news articles, maps, and events appear have been revamped as well.

Facebook is also introducing several new feeds – All Friends, a feed that shows  everything your friends are sharing; Photos – a feed with photos from your friends and the Pages you like; Music – a feed with posts about the music you listen to; Following – a feed with the latest news from the Pages you like and the people you follow.

The new design, now Facebook has the same look and feel on mobile, tablet and web. For example, the left-hand menu is accessible anywhere you go on Facebook. You also have a way to jump right to the top of News Feed whenever new stories come in.

Facebook will be rolling out the new design over the coming weeks.  Want it faster?  Add yourself to the waiting list here. The design updates will be available on iPhone/iPad in the coming weeks and to Android soon after.
