New Apple App Lets You Author Your Own Books

Apple has launched iBooks2 for iPad, featuring iBooks textbooks. The iBooks textbooks are fullscreen textbooks with interactive animations, and multimedia content. Education services companies including Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, McGraw-Hill and Pearson will deliver educational titles on the iBookstore with most priced at $14.99 or less, says Apple.

IBooks Author, a free authoring tool Apple has released enables Mac users to create their own iBooks books, should they want to become authors.

Both the iBooks2 app and iBooks Author are available as free downloads from the App Store.
