New App Lets Users Access Websites Without A Net Connection

[Techtaffy Newsdesk]

How can you access a website, without an Internet connection? A new service says it will podcast the site content to you via a toll-free number. PlayText is a voice service which lets you dial a toll-free number, and then go through an automatic menu to listen to your website of choice.

There is also an Android app version of the service, which uses data connection to podcast any webpage.

However, currently, only the content from Techcrunch is available, and it may be a while before we can get to listening to websites on demand.

The app was developed by Shan (Shanmuga Subramanian) from Chennai, India. Mr. Subramanian has also developed a TextOnly browser/reader, which reduces data usage by displaying only readable content from webpages, stripping the page of advertisements, scripts, or images.
