Neil Young Launches $399 Music Player

Songwriter and musician Neil Young is launching his own digital music service, as well as a music player. PonoMusic encompasses both an online music store and a playback device, as well as a desktop media management application.

Neil Young (Founder and chairman, PonoMusic): It’s about the music, real music. 

The PonoPlayer has 128GB of memory, and can store roughly 100 to 500 high-resolution digital-music albums. It lets consumers “experience studio master-quality digital music at the highest audio fidelity possible”, according to the company.  

The PonoPlayer will be sold at PonoMusic.com for $399 and will be available for pre-order at a discounted price on Kickstarter as of March 15th.
