MongoDB, Alibaba extend partnership for enhanced database services

MongoDB and Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology component of Alibaba Group, have announced a four-year extension to their existing global partnership. First established in 2019, the collaboration allows customers to adopt and utilize MongoDB’s non-relational database services via Alibaba Cloud’s ApsaraDB for MongoDB from their worldwide data centers.

The partnership aims to enable the construction of modern applications at enterprise scale. Alibaba Cloud and MongoDB are now further integrating their services to cater to an increased number of customers in industries such as gaming, automotive, and content development on a global scale.

Alibaba Cloud works in collaboration with MongoDB’s technical teams to develop and launch cloud services rapidly. ApsaraDB for MongoDB utilizes the document data model to offer developers a database solution for application development and feature deployment to meet business needs.

Companies, including gaming and content production firms like G-bit, Xindong, and Pumpkin Film, have leveraged the service. Moreover, in the automotive industry, the usage of ApsaraDB for MongoDB on Alibaba Cloud has seen a twofold increase over the past year, attributing to its capability to handle any data type, scalability to meet demand, and significant operational cost reductions.
