Microsoft, Canon Sign Cross-Licensing Deal

Microsoft and Canon have inked a broad patent cross-licensing agreement, whereby the companies get access to each other’s patent portfolios. The agreement covers a broad range of products and services, including digital imaging and mobile consumer products. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Since Microsoft launched its IP licensing program in December 2003, the company has entered into more than 1,100 licensing agreements.
