Livescribe Appoints HP EVP Gilles Bouchard As New CEO

[Techtaffy Newsdesk]

Livescribe has appointed Gilles Bouchard as chief executive officer. Livescribe founder and former CEO, Jim Marggraff, will remain on the company’s board of directors and serve as an advisor to the company.

Prior to joining Livescribe, Mr. Bouchard was CEO and COO of Opnext, maker of fiber optic components for the telecom and data networking industries. Previously, he spent 17 years at Hewlett-Packard serving in a variety of roles. He ended his tenure at HP as executive vice president of Global Operations overseeing the company’s $50 billion supply chain.

Mr. Bouchard’s appointment comes on the cusp of the company’s five year anniversary and following additional investor backing, which leaves the company well-funded to execute its operating plan for 2012, says Livescribe.
