LG Launches Robotic Square Vacuum With Cameras, Voice Guidance

LG ELECTRONICS USA, INC. HOM-BOT SQUARE[Techtaffy Newsdesk]

LG Electronics (LG) has unveiled a redesigned robotic vacuum, the LG Hom-Bot Square.

The Hom-Bot uses ultrasonic and infrared sensors to detect obstacles, while the vacuum’s Dual Eye 2.0 cameras scan and map rooms, even when the lights are turned off.  The Turbo Mode settings let users manually adjust the cleaner to best match the characteristics of their flooring while Smart Turbo Mode automatically changes its own settings based on the type of flooring.

The Hom-Bot Square also features a learning function, which enables it to recognize areas it has previously cleaned, minimizing unnecessary repetition, as well as allowing the vacuum to remember the positioning of objects from one cleaning to the next.

Other features include voice guidance, which includes over 90 voice alerts and updates on its cleaning progress, and SmartDiagnosis, enabling the Hom-Bot to help self diagnose malfunctions or problems and then inform users with a voice alert.
