Lenovo, NetApp ink partnership to co-develop storage products, announce JV in China

Lenovo and NetApp have inked a global partnership, where the two companies are co-developing a range of Lenovo-branded storage products that combine NetApp’s all-flash data management solutions with Lenovo’s ThinkSystem infrastructure. The products will utilize core software technology from NetApp and will be manufactured by Lenovo, said the companies in a statement.

Lenovo and NetApp have also formed a joint venture company in China, to deliver storage products and data management solutions localized for China. The new venture is expected to be operational by spring 2019 pending local approvals, say the companies .

The first solutions from this partnership – Lenovo ThinkSystem DE and DM Series – are currently available.
