LA County Using VR For Officer Training

Virtra

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Training Bureau has acquired VirTra V-300 technology, says VirTra Systems,  a company providing force training and shooting simulators to law enforcement agencies. The system acquired by the LA county is a 300-degree police firearms training simulator.

Scenarios possible in the V-300 system include, but are not limited to: person with a gun, active shooter with multiple victims, officer ambush, and domestic violence situations, among other scenarios.  The simulator consists of five interconnected screens which surround the participant in a 300-degree arena and display life-size actors, and includes sound equipment and a vibrating training platform. The firearms are modified to be filled with compressed carbon dioxide instead of live ammunition.
