Jason Strle joins Discover as chief information officer

Jason Strle has been named Discover’s new chief information officer. He will join the company’s executive committee as an executive vice president.

Mr. Strle joins Discover from Wells Fargo, where he served as EVP and Group CIO of its payments, virtual solutions, innovation and community banking business units. Prior to Wells Fargo, Mr. Strle was with JP Morgan Chase.

Mr. Strle succeeds Amir Arooni, who joined Discover in 2020.

Amazon to invest up to $4B in Anthropic

Amazon will invest up to $4 billion in Anthropic, and will acquire a minority ownership stake in the company. The two companies also announced a strategic agreement aimed at the development of generative artificial intelligence (AI) models.
