James Bond Has A New, Younger ‘Q’

By Sudarshana Banerjee

Desmond Llewelyn in From Russia With Love. John Cleese in Die Another Day. Its another actor’s turn now, to fill in those rather illustrious shoes of gadget-guru ‘Q’ in the James Bond movies. Ben Whishaw is Q in Skyfall. For the first time in the James Bond franchise, we have a Q who is younger than Bond himself.

We can not say for certain whether ‘Q’ will be teaching Mr. Bond how to navigate the privacy settings of Facebook, but given his predilection for drinking, kissing and telling, in roughly that order, Q may be well-advised to do so. While at it, Q might also warn Bond on the pitfalls of ordering cup cakes with his Groupon coupon.

Skyfall  is directed by Sam Mendes, and stars Judi Dench, Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, and of course, Daniel Craig as Bond. James Bond. The movie is set to hit theaters on November next year.
