Intel Unveils The ‘Clover Trail’ Processor

[Techtaffy Newsdesk]

Intel and its OEM partners unveiled the first wave of new tablets and tablet convertible designs based on Intel Core Pro , Intel  Core  and Intel  Atom  processors.  The showcase included the new Intel Atom processor Z2760 (formerly codenamed “Clover Trail”). Vendors who are working on Intel-based tablets include Acer, ASUS, Dell, Fujitsu, HP, Lenovo, LG Electronics, Samsung, and ZTE.

Erik Reid (General manager, Mobile and Communications Group, Intel):  This is just the beginning of Intel’s effort in the tablet market.

The Intel Atom Processor Z2760 allows for the thinnest, lightest tablets built on Intel  architecture — as thin as 8.5mm and as light as 1.5 pounds. The dual-core, four-thread SoC provides a long battery life with more than 3 weeks of connected standby and more than 10 hours of local HD video playback.  The Atom Processor Z2760 also offers Secure Boot and firmware-based Intel Platform Trust Technology (PTT) for enterprise customers.

With Intel vPro technology, Intel Core-based processors provide remote system access and management, regardless of power or OS state. Other security features include anti-theft technology, Intel Secure Key, Intel OS Guard, and Enhanced Intel Identity Protection, among other things.
