HP Gets Into 3D Printing

HP-MultiJet-fusion

HP is getting into 3D printing, with the launch of a 3D printer that the company says will be ten times faster than the models currently available, as well as a new computer. HP calls the new product launches,  part of its Blended Reality ecosystem. The ecosystem is powered by Multi Jet Fusion, new printing technology built on the company’s thermal inkjet technology, and featuring a synchronous architecture that the company says can provide 3D printing faster and cheaper.  Multi Jet Fusion also uses multi-agent printing processes utilizing HP’s Thermal Inkjet arrays that simultaneously apply multiple liquid agents. The 3D Print technology is currently available, with wider distribution of the 3D Print system beginning in 2016, says HP.

Sprout features an integrated vertical HD touch screen, coupled with a 20-point capacitative touch mat. The device sports an Intel i7 processor, 1TB of storage, and a custom Sprout software platform. Prices for Sprout start from $1,899.
