Google Buys Songza

Songza

Google has acquired  online music search engine and jukebox Songza, for an undisclosed sum.  The Songza service provides playlists curated by music experts; designed for specific times of the day, or occasion (staying up all night, unwinding, summer break, and so on).

Songza will continue to work like usual for existing users, at least for now. Google says it is not planning any immediate changes to the music service. Over the coming months,  the Mountain View giant plans to “explore ways to bring what you love about Songza to Google Play Music”; which could be Google-speak for Songza will be integrated with Google Play Music. Google says it is also exploring ways to bring elements of Songza to the music experience on YouTube and other Google products.
