GE HealthCare to acquire Caption Health

GE HealthCare has signed an agreement to acquire San Mateo, Calif.-based Caption Health, a privately owned artificial intelligence (AI) healthcare company that creates clinical applications to aid in early disease detection, using AI to assist in conducting ultrasound scans.

The consummation of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions.  Financial terms of the transaction are not being disclosed.

Caption Health will first be integrated in the Point of Care and Handheld business portfolio to advance ultrasound adoption, with expanded future use cases as well, says GE HealthCare. As part of the acquisition, Caption Health will also continue to provide management and administrative services to affiliated medical services providers.
