Facebook Timeline Launches. In New Zealand.

By Lisa Carlin

Facebook updated its September 22 blog post to say that the social utility is rolling out ‘Timeline’ in New Zealand. Why New Zealand? Why not? New Zealand has a relatively smaller population, and a relatively smaller population of Facebook users, so Facebook can test out the impacts of scaling Timeline, but on a smaller scale.

Timeline is a major UI change. Among other things, Timeline will include all our stories (no need to keep on clicking on ‘Older Posts’) and will be a lot about who we are, as well as our social graph. So when can the rest of the world have Timeline? Facebook will roll it out more broadly in the near future, says the company. How far is near? Watch this space for more.
