Facebook Now Twice As Fast On IOS

[Techtaffy Newsdesk]

Facebook has launched an update to its iOS app that makes the social network twice as fast on iPhones and iPads. Facebook 5.0 for iOS is twice as fast as the previous version when launching the app, scrolling through news feed and opening photos in feed.

Mark Zuckerberg (Founder, chairman and CEO, Facebook):  We just released a new Facebook app for iPhone and iPad and it’s a lot faster. Our team completely rewrote it from the ground up to focus on speed. It’s a big step forward.

What is new?  As you scroll down your news feed, all your friends’ stories now appear faster. A banner lets you know when new stories come in, and you can tap once to immediately see the latest updates. You can also tap on pictures to open them right away. Pull down to close a picture with a single swipe.

The new app is already available on the App Store.
