Facebook IPO Set For May 18

[By Sudarshana Banerjee]

The much awaited, discussed, debated and most eagerly anticipated IPO of the season has now moved from the distant horizon to just a few days away. According to a Wall Street Journal report by Shayndi Raice and Anupreeta Das, the social network’s roadshow is to start on Monday, and the IPO is set for May 18th. There is no official confirmation of the news as of now, and the WSJ report cites the usual ‘people familiar to the matter’  attribution.

Whether or not you can start buying Facebook shares in a couple of weeks from now depends on when Facebook’s S-1 filing is given the official heads up by the SEC. Facebook had filed the IPO papers in February this year.
