Elastic appoints former Proofpoint CFO Paul Auvil to board

Elastic, known for Elasticsearch, announced the election of Paul Auvil to its board of directors. The decision came during the company’s 2023 annual general meeting. Mr. Auvil will serve on the board until the 2026 annual general meeting.

Mr. Auvil recently concluded a 16-year stint as chief financial officer at Proofpoint, a company specializing in security-as-a-service solutions. Prior to that, he was associated with Benchmark Capital as an entrepreneur-in-residence. Mr. Auvil also served as the CFO of VMware.

In addition to his new role at Elastic, Mr. Auvil has held board positions at several other companies including One Medical, OpenTV, Marin Software, and Quantum.
