Educational Gamemaker MindSnacks Raises $6.5M

MindSnacks, a developer of educational games for iOS, has raised $6.5 million from Sequoia Capital. The company will use the funding to expand its portfolio beyond language acquisition and test preparation. MindSnacks is also hiring more engineers and designers.

The current roster of 14 MindSnacks iPhone apps include language-specific subjects such as Spanish, Mandarin and SAT Vocabulary. Forthcoming titles will cover geography, math, and other subjects. MindSnacks apps have been downloaded over 4 million times.
